Xprompt Design contributed to a 2-year engineering engagement on Medtronic’s O-arm intraoperative 3D imaging platform, a complex medical system combining X-ray imaging, 3D reconstruction, robotics, and real-time control.
The project required improving delivery speed and system reliability within a highly regulated medical-device environment, where traceability, validation discipline, and release control were essential.
Our team worked across three key areas:
CI/CD and release engineering for device software
image-processing workflows for large 3D intraoperative datasets
setup and scaling of an overseas engineering team integrated into the core delivery model
During the engagement, we designed and implemented end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with gated validation, traceability, and audit-ready artifacts suitable for regulatory review. We helped establish a more repeatable release process with clearer ownership, stronger versioning discipline, and more predictable deployment cadence. We also contributed to imaging workflow robustness and performance, while building a distributed team with expertise across systems/C++, image processing, DevOps, and test automation.
Project outcomes included:
improved release predictability
reduced build and integration cycle times
fewer release-related regressions in imaging workflows
increased production stability
a sustainable offshore delivery model contributing to core product functionality
This experience reflects Xprompt Design’s ability to work inside complex, regulated, hardware-integrated environments and strengthen delivery systems where reliability, engineering discipline, and operational readiness directly affect product performance.
